Happily unhinged: American indie rock band Gangly Youth, renowned for its jangly, fuzzy, reverb soaked ‘pop’ songs, to take on two gigs in the Klang Valley next week

NOTHING beats the old school romance of a road trip and whirlwind indie rock ‘n’ roll tour. American noise pop band Gangly Youth and homegrown act Maharajah Commission, led by the enigmatic Azmyl Yunor and Farez Jinnah, will be taking on this challenge with the Straits Settlements 2012 tour, reaching out to fans in Singapore, Tampin, Johor Baru, Kuala Lumpur right to Ipoh and Penang. A 7” split EP, featuring music from both bands, has also been produced for this DIY tour, which in years to come, will most definitely be a collectors’ item apart from the rusty memories of the masses being tossed about in faraway mosh-pits across the nation.
