THE Hindu Youth Organisation (HYO) is holding its 25th Silver Jubilee Conven-tion this weekend at Northam Hotel, Penang.
According to its deputy president A. Suriya Kumar, the three-day programme will be attracting Indian youths throughout the nation as well as from neighbouring countries like Indonesia and Singapore.
“During the convention, we will be looking for suggestions to develop and mould Indian youths on ways to work well with the Federal Government as well as the state government,” Suriya said.
He added that more than 350 delegates would be attending the convention.
“We will also be speaking on HYO’s stand on Hinduism in Malaysia,” Suriya said.
In addition to that, Suriya said there would be motivating talks to inspire the youths to be more useful to the community.
During the three-day programme, the delegates will also visit historical places in Penang such as the Waterfall Hilltop Temple and Little India.
The delegates will also visit the beaches in Penang.
The HYO 25th Silver Jubilee Convention will be launched by Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam today.
