Perkasa to defend mosques’ sanctity

ALOR SETAR: Political parties should not use mosques as venues for political campaign as it could create friction among Muslims, said Kota Setar Perkasa chairman Datuk Mohd Yusof Ismail.

“We are against any political parties which use mosques for their political agendas.

“It is the duty of Perkasa members to defend the sanctity of mosques,” he said at a press conference yesterday.

Mohd Yusof said Sunday’s incident where Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim spoke at Masjid Pumpong should be the last time any political party used a mosque for its campaigning.
