Sad songs say so much

Boom times: The music buying experience in the Klang Valley in the early 1990s was an unforgettable one with CDs, cassettes and LPs packing up a record store.

WHY do you still buy CDs and LPs?” I get asked that question a lot by my curious colleagues whenever a parcel of vinyl records or CD box sets arrive on my office desk.

Online mail orders, as you can see, have slowly taken over the way I buy music. It used to be regular trips to record stores in town, but that routine has, sadly, slowed down through the years with many of my favourite music stores in the Klang Valley shutting down. We’ll get to that sorry story later.
