FUSION Excel raised RM13,000 during the JNG-KGSAAS junior open day at the Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (KGSAAS) in Shah Alam recently.
The amount raised was handed over to Pusat Jagaan Kanak Kanak Cacat Taman Orphange.
The residents of the orphanage were also treated to a golf clinic conducted by professionals from KGSAAS. The open day was held to raise funds for charity as well as create awareness on junior golf.
About 120 participants, including juniors from the JNG junior golf programme, attended the programme.
The participants were given free introductory golf lessons by Tony Maloney, Jayasanker, Mike West-wood, Daniel Glen and Nathan Hauser.
Jean Daniels performed a trick-shot-show and long drive exhibition. He also offered tips and advice on how to improve the golfers’ swing. His trick shots had parents and students amazed as he demonstrated his skills with funny shaped clubs. Hauser said they were pleased with the turn-out on the day.
“We received great support from partners and sponsors to make this a fun day for all the children involved, I am personally very happy that we also contributed to a local children’s home, with both the financial amount raised but also we received goods from Munchies and Milo to give the children’s home that little bit extra,’’ said Hauser.
