RESPONSE has been encouraging for the third round of the Malaysia Waterski and Wakeboard championships at the Watersports Complex in Precinct 6, Putrajaya, from July 16-18.

Malaysian Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (MWWF) secretary Phillipa Yoong said they had received about 80 entries from eight countries for the championships.

“We may need to close the entries for some of the over-subscribed events.

“We are very happy to have received seven entries from Kuwait comprising five men and two women wakeboarders.

“Kuwait are participating in the championships for the first time,’’ said Yoong.

Besides Kuwait, Singapore, Indonesia, England, France, Japan, Canada as well as Malaysia will be represented in the three-day championships.

The events in the championships are Slalom, Shortboard (Tricks), Jump and Wakeboard for women and men. Juniors will get to display their skills in the age group categories.

The championships is supported by Perbadanan Putrajaya, Ministry of Youth and Sports and WWWC.
