Singing showcase

Cosplay, Comic, Anime and Games exhibition

The HELP Matriculation Centre (HMC) of HELP University College is organising a Cosplay, Comic, Anime and Games exhibition (C2AGE) 2009 today, from 10am to 6pm. A host of activities such as anime war games, cosplay catwalk, PS3 and Nintendo Wii competition as well as exhibition promoting western comics like Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Community programme

Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK), a community action group which distributes food to the homeless and urban poor, will be at the community corner of 1 Utama Shopping Centre (Ground floor — near Burger King/TGIF, old wing) today from 10am to 10pm, to raise awareness and funds. Celebrity fashion designer Eric Choong is donating 30% of sales of his book to KSK over this weekend and will be making a special appearance to autograph books at 5pm. There will also be some jewellery on sale to raise much needed funds. Meet KSK volunteers and find out what makes them go out and distribute food whether rain or shine! EPL showdown

Tiger FC brings a fitting finale to the English Premier League season with the Tiger FC Presents ESPN Grandstand match viewing party at Souled Out, Sri Hartamas featuring the match between Manchester United and Arsenal. Football fans can enjoy the unbeatable match viewing experience while enjoying bucket load of games and activities with lucrative prizes in the run-up to this epic showdown. Art exhibition

Four local artists Yap Kim Boon, Lee Weng Fatt, Liew Choong Ching and Kuen Stephanie will be exhibiting their artworks on Memoirs of Joy at Art Village Bangsar South Outlet starting today. The arty documentation displays the typical Malaysian lifestyle together with the joyous flora and care free landscapes under the tropical sun. Charity car wash

CHEVRON Malaysia Limited and Omron Electronics Sdn Bhd volunteers are joining hands to organise a charity car wash in aid of the Malaysian AIDS Council from 9am at Caltex Service Station (next to Wisma BU8) Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya for RM7 per wash. Proceeds will be donated to the Malaysian AIDS Council to help AIDS patients.

Cultural show

THE Buddhist Maha Vihara is organising its annual Wesak International Cultural Night in Brickfields from 7.30pm onwards. MICHELIN Malaysia Sdn Bhd is organising the ‘MICHELIN Diaries’ roadshow to promote its wide range of high quality tyres that effectively reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. Waterski and Wakeboard competition

Be sure to witness some of the best waterskiers from Asia compete in the Putrajaya Waterski and Wakeboard Junior Cup today at the lake in Precint 6. Thailand’s Padiwat “Bomb” Jaemjan and Chile’s Larry Gissler will be on site conducting coaching and demonstration workshops, too. Members of the public visiting the lake side area in Precinct 6 can join in the fun with banana boat rides, radio-controlled model boats and planes, performances by local artistes and, to keep the children occupied, the inflatable “iceberg”. Read aloud session

MindQuest English Enrichment Centre, Sri Petaling, will be holding a read aloud session, Quest of the “Book-e-teers”, for children aged between seven and 13 from 11am-noon today.
