MPO concert

MALAYSIAN Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) is organising a concert at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP), KLCC on Saturday at 8.30pm and Sunday at 3pm. Slated under the Odyssey series, all concerts will be conducted by the MPO’s Conductor Laureate, Kees Bakels. Among the works is Violin Concerto composed by Russian artiste Igor Stravinsky. Collaborating with the MPO to perform this work is violinist Julian Rachlin, born in Lithuania in 1974. He has worked with many prominent orchestras such as the Vienna Philhar-monic, Bavarian Radio Orchestra and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. A prolific recording artiste, he has made recordings on Warner Classics, Sony Classical and ONYX Classics labels.
