Pipeline blaze victims get RM1,000 cash aid from Puchong MP's office

KUALA LUMPUR: The Puchong Parliamentary Office will provide immediate cash assistance of RM1,000 to families from Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru and Kampung Tengah whose houses were destroyed by the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya on Tuesday (April 1).

Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin said the aid for both villages, which fall within her constituency, will be distributed starting today, specifically for victims who suffered '’total loss" of property in the tragedy.

"For victims who are still in their hometowns, we will arrange follow-up distribution. For other categories of victims, we will distribute cash aid once we receive the latest verified data,” she said in a statement on Facebook.

Yeo added that for any emergency needs, residents in the constituency can contact the chairman of the Batu 13 Village Development and Security Committee at 011-27217445.

She also said an allocation of RM10,000 has been set aside for other emergency measures to assist residents in the constituency.

Subang Jaya police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said today that 529 fire victims have been placed at the temporary relief centres at Dewan Masjid Putra Heights and Dewan Serbaguna MBSJ (Camelia). - Bernama
