Floods: Ministry urges affected higher education institutions to postpone PdP sessions, activities

PETALING JAYA: The Higher Education Ministry has urged all higher education institutions (HEIs) affected by the recent floods to postpone teaching and learning (PdP) sessions and activities.

The ministry said it also welcomed the steps taken by some HEIs to postpone their PdP sessions.

“We welcome the decisions taken by some HEIs, such as Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in postponing PdP sessions and activities throughout this period of disaster.

"As such, we urge other HEIs affected by this disaster to take the same approach to help the victims involved.

“Taking such a step will lighten the load, facilitate affairs and start post-flood recovery processes.

“Students who have any questions can contact the ministry’s operations room at 03-88706777/6949/6623/6628,” the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 22).
