ONE question deserves an immediate and transparent answer from the government: why has access to the MyKhas system been blocked for several Members of Parliament (MPs)?
MyKhas is the system used to administer constituency development allocations.
The question raised publicly by Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung regarding the RM3mil parliamentary allocation for Petaling Jaya must not be ignored.
The government must provide a clear explanation.
Reports indicate that this is not an isolated case.
Besides Petaling Jaya, the MPs for Ampang and Subang have also reportedly lost access to MyKhas.
If true, this raises serious concerns about whether elected representatives are being prevented from carrying out their responsibilities to the people who elected them.
Even more troubling are reports that the Prime Minister’s political secretary has been appointed as the “Ampang parliamentary coordinator” to oversee government allocations in the constituency, while in Petaling Jaya, responsibility is reportedly being handled by the PKR division chief.
Constituency allocations are public funds meant to serve the rakyat through their elected representatives, not political appointees or party office bearers.
This naturally raises a vital question: will every parliamentary constituency eventually have an appointed area coordinator to manage government allocations?
If government funds can be redirected or controlled for political purposes, it would represent a serious departure from the principles of accountability and good governance.
Many Malaysians still remember Pakatan Harapan’s promise to ensure fair and transparent constituency allocations regardless of political affiliation.
Selangor MCA Youth therefore calls on the government to explain why Lee, Subang MP Wong Chen and Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail have reportedly been denied access to the MyKhas portal.
The government must immediately restore their access and return to them the authority to administer constituency allocations in their respective constituencies.
It should ensure government constituency allocations remain under the responsibility of elected MPs, rather than political or party appointees.
It must also honour Pakatan Harapan’s commitment to a fair, transparent and equitable system of constituency allocations for all MPs.
Government allocations belong to the rakyat.
They are public funds, not political tools to reward loyalty or punish dissent.
Our citizens expect the government to administer public funds fairly, transparently and without political interference.
If the allegations surrounding MyKhas are untrue, the government should clarify them immediately.
