THE multi-coloured steps leading up to the iconic Batu Caves temple was a contentious topic on social media.

While some felt there was nothing wrong with the temple management’s decision to paint the steps in all colours of the rainbow, others said it detracted from the beauty of the Hindu temple and made it look like a theme park.
