Welcoming our first Malaysian cat

Djin Djin, aka Kucing Tong Sampah, peering out from a flower pot.

The newest member of our multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-species Malaysian-American-New Zealand family is a black stray kitty from the streets of Malacca. His name is Djin Djin, or as the spouse likes to call him, Kucing Tong Sampah.

We weren’t looking for a third cat, not when we’re living in a small Bangsar apartment. We already have two adult cats, a ginger tom named Mr Lick’em Chops and a female Tonkinese named Nom Nom, who came with me when I moved from Los Angeles to Kuala Lumpur three years ago.
