Threat to green lung

Treasured nature threatened: Taman Rimba Ampang is the place city folks go for a cool dip in the river and enjoy nature, one wonders what will happen to this park when construction of the East Klang Valley Expressway takes place in the nearby forests.

The recent approval by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) for a highway that cuts through the Selangor State Park has caused great concern to the Malaysian Nature Society.

Of particular concern is the fact that the Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) and the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) reports have not been shared with the public.
