THANK you to Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) for bringing back the scratch-and-display card parking system (StarMetro on Feb 5).
This will be a big relief to senior citizens and those with leg problems who struggle to walk from one place to another in search of parking payment machines, which are more often than not out of order.
Secondly, this is not only a sure form of revenue for MPSJ as the coupons would have to be purchased in advance but it also saves MPSJ unnecessary expenditure in repairing spoilt parking machines.
However, in order for this system to be successful, MPSJ has to ensure that there are sufficient and convenient places where the coupons can be purchased, for example 7-Eleven, 99SpeedMart and other places frequently visited by patrons.
It is hoped this system will be fully implemented after the six-month trial period or let the motorists have the option of either using this ticket system or the parking machine.
In Malacca, this card system has been successfully used for a long time.
