Medical centre gets recognition on green infrastructure, practices

Sunway Medical Centre Velocity ranked in ‘World’s Greenest Hospitals 2026’ list.

A MALAYSIAN hospital has been named among the global Top 250 in Newsweek and Statista’s “World’s Greenest Hospitals 2026”, earning the highest 5 Leaves sustainability ranking.

Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) in Kuala Lumpur was selected from among thousands of medical facilities worldwide, an accolade the centre said highlighted its commitment to pairing clinical excellence with environmental responsibility.

SMCV said the award reflected its continuous commitment to building a healthier future – not just through world-class patient care, but through energy-efficient infrastructure, eco-conscious operations and sustainable practices across every department.

SMCV said it remained dedicated to championing green healthcare initiatives that safeguard both patients and the planet for generations to come.

The ranking highlights healthcare institutions that are leading the way in sustainability by reducing emissions, conserving water and improving waste management.

The centre said the list provided a benchmark for the industry and demonstrated that environmental responsibility and clinical excellence could go hand in hand to create a healthier future for patients and communities alike.
