A TOTAL of 107 rats were eliminated during a rodent control operation at Seri Kembangan Commercial Centre (PSK).

Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) Zone 21 councillor Tey Boon Kiat said during the operation, bread mixed with rodenticide was used as bait.

“We used the bread to lure the rats around PSK,” he said.

“The next day, more than 30 residents and MBSJ personnel helped collect the dead rats.”

Tey also said this was the second rat culling operation in Zone 21 this year, with the first one at Olive Hill Business Park in April.

“Some 129 rats were exterminated during that operation.

“The third operation will be carried out in Taman University Indah, another commercial area in Zone 21,” he added.

Tey also requested MBSJ to carry out at least two rat eradication operations in each commercial area annually to ensure hygiene and cleanliness.

“I also urge business owners to keep the surroundings of their shops, front and back, clean.

“Don’t litter or dispose of food waste in the drains,” he urged.
