Festive get-together for underprivileged children

Tropicana Foundation’s open house provided a kampung-inspired festive experience for 120 underprivileged children.

A group of underprivileged children and their guardians were feted at Tropicana Foundation’s festive gathering in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The “Muhibbah in Motion” event at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort fell under a broader, year-long festive care initiative by the philanthropic arm of Tropicana Corporation Bhd to foster giving, dignity and togetherness.

“Designed as a structured festive outreach, Muhibbah in Motion moves beyond conventional donation drives by fostering communal participation and meaningful engagement,” said Tropicana Corp Bhd and Tropicana Golf & Country Resort chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

The buffet was made possible by Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd while the duit raya for the children came from proceeds of a preloved market fundraiser.

Tropicana Foundation programme director Serena Lim said, “What we’ve seen here is a simple but powerful idea where funds and impact can be generated not by producing more, but by redistributing what already exists within the community.

“It has been very meaningful to see, not just what is given, but how it continues to give.”

Guests also enjoyed traditional games and live performances.

The event was graced by Fraser & Neave Holdings chairman Tengku Syarif Bendahara Perlis Syed Badarudin Jamalullail.
