Insurance firm’s customers from Pahang, Selangor each receive sports utility vehicle at campaign finale

Two customers of Takaful Malaysia drove home electric sport utility vehicles (SUVs) after emerging as grand prize winners of its “Mini-Worries, Great Prizes” campaign.

Muhamad Norimin Muhamad, 47, an environmental training provider from Shah Alam, Selangor, and Selamat Md Din, a private company supervisor from Temerloh, Pahang, each received a BYD Atto 3 Ultra at the campaign finale.

Selamat said the prize was an unexpected birthday gift as he had just turned 58.

“My birthday was on April 6, so this feels like a birthday present,” he said. He plans to keep and use the vehicle.

“Electric vehicles are still not that common in Temerloh, so I will try it out and maybe help promote it there,” he added.

Selamat, who has been a long-time Takaful Malaysia customer, said he had signed up for coverage with about 40 colleagues at his workplace.

He said he was initially in disbelief when informed of the win but came to accept it after getting a visit from a Takaful representative.

He also praised the service provided by a Takaful Malaysia representative in Temerloh.

Muhamad Norimin too was surprised to win the contest’s top prize.

“I knew there was a chance to win a car, but I never expected to actually get the grand prize.

“I have entered many contests before and never won.

“This is my first time,” said Muhamad Norimin.

He said that he had been mulling the purchase of an electric vehicle for daily use.

“With the current economic situation and daily commuting, I was planning to get an EV.

“So this feels like my wish has been answered,” he added.

Organised by Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd, the campaign ran from Oct 15, 2025 to Jan 15, 2026 in conjunction with the second anniversary of its Kaotim platform.

Throughout the campaign, customers stood a chance to win monthly prizes including gold bars in October, iPhones in November and RM5,000 Touch ’n Go e-vouchers in December, before culminating in two grand prizes.

Takaful Malaysia group chief distribution officer Yassir Azlin Abdul Ghafar said the campaign had received encouraging participation from customers.

He said the “two winners” concept was introduced to give more customers the opportunity to be rewarded.

“The campaign was designed to deliver a more engaging and rewarding experience, from the monthly prizes to the final grand prizes,” he said.

Yassir Azlin said the choice of electric vehicles as the top prize was timely, adding that the win reflected the customers’ loyalty and trust in Takaful Malaysia.

He said the company was grateful for the support shown by its customers and hoped to continue creating meaningful experiences through Kaotim.
