EVERY year since 2018, a family from Kampung Tok Dir in Kuala Terengganu has chosen their Aidilfitri clothing colour via poll.

The winning hue for Syawal 2026 among Muda Abdullah and wife Khatijah Said’s family of 12 children, 30 grandchildren and 10 in-laws was emerald green.

Muda told Bernama that the practice fostered strong bonds.

“It looks more organised and harmonious when everyone gathers in matching colours on Aidilfitri morning.”

Muda’s 11th child, Nazifa Qasrina said family members had a say via WhatsApp group to decide the colour theme.

“We will list several colours and hold a vote.

“We do not specify the type of clothing, only the colour.

“So everyone is free to choose their own design as long as the colour matches,” said Nazifa.
