Digital shift for MPSepang procurement processes

Ani says all contractors, suppliers and consultants are required to use the system.

Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) has digitalised its procurement process, in a move to ensure fairness and accountability in all transactions.

MPSepang president Dr Ani Ahmad said all procurement matters, including the submission of quotations and tenders, must now be conducted via the Intelligent Procurement Management System (iPMS), which went live on Feb 1.

Launched on Jan 28, the iPMS (ipms.mpsepang.gov.my) serves as a central data management for MPSepang, requiring all dealings with contractors and suppliers to be processed through the system.

With all documentation now digital, she said the local council could track and monitor every stage of the process, reducing the risk of negligence and unfounded allegations.

“All contractors, suppliers and consultants are required to use the system for every transaction.

“The iPMS enhances transparency and efficiency in our procurement processes.

“By digitalising every stage, from registration to appointment, we are reinforcing good governance while ensuring fairness and accountability in all council transactions,” she said during a full board meeting at its headquarters in Cyberjaya.

Since its implementation, 14 contracts had been advertised, including road resurfacing, drain repairs, playground equipment maintenance and office furniture supply.

The submission period for these tenders ends on March 3.

Ani said the system also enabled contractors to complete quotation and tender documents more quickly and efficiently, without the need to physically submit documents at the office.

“It is also easier to audit information, which enhances the transparency of our management system.

“It allows decisions on the appointment of contractors and suppliers to be accessed online within 24 hours after our procurement meeting concludes.

“In the past, the announcement was made on the MPSepang website and physical notice boards three days after a decision was made,” she said.
