SIX hospital-linked, children- centred welfare organisations have received RM480,000 in medical grants from Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Malaysia.

The organisations are National Heart Institute Foundation, Persatuan Kebajikan Pesakit Kanak-Kanak Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia, Tabung Kebajikan Pesakit Hospital Tunku Ampuan Besar Tuanku Aishah Rohani, Tabung Kebajikan Perubatan Malaysia Hospital Tunku Azizah, PPUMCare (Universiti Malaya Medical Centre) and Tabung Kebajikan Perubatan Malaysia Hospital Wanita dan Kanak-Kanak Sabah.

The contribution follows RMHC Malaysia’s earlier grant in September, when RM300,000 was awarded to the bodies.

During the mock cheque presentation ceremony at Ronald McDonald House at Hospital Tunku Azizah in Kuala Lumpur, RMHC Malaysia general manager Mohd Nasri Nordin said no family should have to choose between their child’s life and paying a bill.

“These medical grants are our promise that every ringgit goes towards a child’s chance to heal, to grow and to simply be a child again.

“We will stand beside hospitals and welfare funds so that families can focus on what matters most – that is being there for their child,” he said.
