Poised to be Setia Alam’s highest bar, the Pool Bar at Courtyard by Marriott Setia Alam in Shah Alam is the perfect place to unwind with a scenic view of the surrounding neighbourhoods.
At the bar beside the hotel’s rooftop pool, one can catch a view of the setting sun and daylight gradually fading into night.
Guests can expect expertly crafted cocktails and premium pours to enjoy with light snacks.
Start the evening with the Courtyard Signature cocktail, which has an Absolut vodka base.
The tropical drink delivers a citrusy punch of yuzu liqueur, lemon and pineapple juice, with palm sugar for a hint of sweetness.
It is smoked with wood chips for added aroma.
A rosemary stalk garnish lends a pleasant herbaceous note to the drink.
The light-yellow concoction is both refreshing and appetising.
Meanwhile, the gin-forward Glitter Finest cocktail mixes Beefeater gin, Aperol, cinnamon powder and syrup, as well as lime and grapefruit juice.
The fancy drink is capped with a layer of foam created by shaking egg white, and is topped with edible glitter.
Brilliant red in colour, the juniper-forward spirit is enhanced by a sweet, slightly bitter complexity.
The fruit components provide a refreshing finish that cuts through the sweetness with a hint of autumnal spice.
For something stronger, the Poolbar Barrel cocktail layers Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve, Pernod liqueur, star anise syrup, vanilla syrup and tops it off with a basil leaf and soda.
Garnished with mint leaves and star anise, this spirit-forward drink is a superb choice to end the night.
Guests can also try the Bitter Sweet of Journey, a delightful mix of Olmeca silver tequila, Parfait Amour liqueur, lime and grapefruit juice, garnished with an edible flower.
Those with discerning taste for fine liquor are invited to unwind in style with “A Toast to Luxury,” a premium promotion that celebrates the art of fine drinking.
Until Dec 30, guests can enjoy 30% savings by the dram and 15% by the bottle on a wide selection of world-class labels and a premium line-up including Macallan, Glenlivet, Royal Salute, Singleton, Johnnie Walker, Martell Cordon Bleu, Drumshanbo, No.3 London Dry Gin, Four Pillars Gin, Patron Silver, Grey Goose and Belvedere.
The promotion is also running concurrently at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge on Level 1.
The bar also has customised cheese and fruit platters for parties.
