TWO Selangor children’s homes received more than 1,000 essential items following a community donation drive by Rockwills Group.

Around 68 children, including those with developmental challenges, are cared for by the Trinity Community Children Home Society and Shelter Home for Children.

Among the donated items were rice, oats, chocolate drinks, instant noodles, milk powder, cooking oil, detergent, toothpaste and tissue.

Rising living costs had led to financial strain hence the contribution was timely, said the beneficiaries.

“Every item we have received will help lighten our monthly expenses and ensure the children’s daily needs are met,” said a home representative.

At the donation presentation, Rockwills Corporation Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Tan Mei Yin said: “It was heartening to see so many individuals and groups step forward.

“This is what community spirit is about.”

“Reflecting the Malaysian tradition of gotong-royong, Rockwills hopes our donation drive inspires more support for vulnerable groups,” Tan added.

Also present was Rockwills assistant general manager Sam Chan.
