SOMETIMES the best getaways may not need a long road trip or flight – they can be found right here in the Klang Valley.
For the nature-loving type, there are a number of hiking trails with varying difficulties to explore for free at recreational parks and community forests, especially in fine weather.
With the right choice of trail, all you really need is a good pair of trekking shoes (soles count for a lot), a bottle of water, willingness to reconnect with nature, and a map be it the physical or digital kind.
Regular hikers suggest visiting trails early in the morning when the air is cooler, and bringing along mosquito repellent to keep pests at bay.
