It featured a 2.5km and 6km sing-along fun run with a disc jockey (DJ) spinning music, earning itself a place in the Malaysia Book of Records for the largest number of participants in a zumba event with a live DJ.

The event also featured health checks by KPJ Healthcare, body mass index (BMI) tests, product sampling and booths by the health and beauty retailer’s brand partners.

Afiqah Marzuki, 24, joined with her friends after discovering the event on a mobile app that she uses to track fun runs.

“I always join a fun run whenever I get the chance. This is how I stay active and fit while doing something I truly enjoy,” she said.

“This event is unique as I get the chance to run across the city accompanied by music.”

Watsons Malaysia managing director Caryn Loh said health and wellness should be fun, inclusive and accessible.

“This year we want our Watsons members to enjoy better rewards, offers and savings with a seamless loyalty and rewards programme,” she said.
