Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) kicked off its silver jubilee celebration in a lively fashion, during its monthly car-free day event at Dataran Kemerdekaan.

Despite a drizzle, spirits remained high as over 10,000 participants gathered for the occasion which featured two runs – Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) Larian Merdeka and Red Kaler Fun Run, which is part of the Rakan Muda run series.

Gracing the event was Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who not only launched the events, but also joined the public to complete a run in the light rain.

A variety of family-friendly activities added to the festive atmosphere, including aerobic sessions, giant chess, an eco-market and inflatable playground for children as well as lively performances.
