A NEW playground has opened in George Town, Penang, just in time for the upcoming school holidays.

Located at Level 5 in Komtar, Jungle Gym is a play space for little ones to exercise their bodies and minds while having lots of fun.

A visitor who wished to be known only as Lim, 62, said Jungle Gym provided educational activities for children and their parents.

“The children can climb, run, jump, slide and swing – these movements help them burn energy while stimulating creativity and their motor skills.”

Also at Level 5 is the Jurassic Research Centre, another popular edutainment attraction for families with children.

It provides an immersive experience with life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs and interactive exhibits that bring the pre-historic era to life.

Also at the same location, visitors can expect to experience Rainbow Skywalk, a curved glass skywalk on the building’s 68th floor, offering views over historic George Town.

A visitor from Indonesia, Fitria Rahmadani, 26, said she enjoyed the Rainbow Skywalk.

“It was awesome. A trip to Penang wouldn't be complete without experiencing this,” she said.

Her sister, Rani Salsabila, 23, said it was her first time visiting The TOP Komtar and she was impressed by the spectacular views from the Rainbow Skywalk.

“The view from up there was amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it.

On Level 65, there are also breathtaking views to be enjoyed from the Sky Bridge, 230m above ground.

Spanning a spacious viewing area, the attraction offers the city's stunning skyline as the backdrop.

Sky Bridge offers a one-of-a-kind experience, allowing guests to walk outside the building and take in the breathtaking panoramic sights of Penang from a whole new perspective, making it the perfect spot for thrill-seekers, photographers and sightseers alike.

A visitor from Subang Jaya, Selangor, Nur Hidayah Ridzuan, 27, was there to enjoy the view with her husband and son.

One World Group Holding Bhd founder Tan Sri Richard Koh said since its opening in 2017, The TOP had recorded over five million visitors.

He said the attractions at The TOP offered opportunities for thrilling experiences, educational excitement and meaningful family time.

“Whether you're walking among dinosaurs, soaring in the sky or laughing through play, The TOP is where magic happens,” he said.

The skyline view can also be enjoyed at TOP View Restaurant on the 68th floor, which offers an array of international and local delicacies.

Located in the heart of the Unesco World Heritage Site in George Town, The TOP opens daily from 10am to 7pm.

Tickets can be bought online or at the location.
