A TEAM comprising Star Media Group's entertainment and lifestyle portal mStar and the KPJ Healthcare Bhd descended on Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur, to carry out their "Ziarah Jalinan Kasih" programme.

The corporate social responsibility (CSR) event at Lorong Haji Taib 2 earlier this week prepared a spread of raya dishes for 600 of the asnaf (destitute), including the homeless.

The charity project is in its second year, after the first collaboration in 2024 received an encouraging response.

mStar chief news editor Niezam Abdullah said the "Ziarah Jalinan Kasih" was a special project with KPJ Healthcare to support the homeless and others in need.

In this session, he said that KPJ set up mobile clinics to provide free health checks to people who could also get health advice from the KPJ doctors.

He added that mStar provided publicity in an effort to raise awareness so that society can continue helping people in need, regardless of their background.

Meanwhile, KPJ Healthcare president and managing director Chin Keat Chyuan said the company was committed to offering access to health services.

“This is why KPJ Healthcare is committed to working with mStar and Bank Muamalat to bring healthcare services to those in need.

“Every month, a mobile clinic will be located at Lorong Haji Taib to provide check-ups for residents,” he added.

Also present were KPJ Healthcare chief operating officer Datuk Mohamad Farid Salim, Bank Muamalat social finance department head Zaharuddin Alias, The Star executive editor Tung Eng Hwa and Jejak Jalanan organisation's Mohd Azhan Mohd Adnan.

The event in Chow Kit started with a health talk by Dr Syafiruz Azira Saleh, followed by performances from Caliph Buskers singer Fendi as well as busker Nurul Shakina Abdullah Teh, a former Paralympic athlete.
