CRUISING through Taiping on their high-powered motorcycles, 330 Education Ministry (MOE) staff took part in the Rides Ziarah MOE Bikerz Madani programme.
This annual community initiative served to invigorate the Thank You Teachers Mass Movement, said Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh.
Also known as The Gerakan Massa #terimakasihcikgu initiative, it was launched by the ministry in 2018 to appreciate teachers nationwide.
The rides also added to the Teachers Day celebrations.
Wong said; “The objectives of the MOE Bikerz Madani programme are to foster friendships among MOE bikers nationwide and encourage them to bond with teachers and retirees who lived in the areas they visited.
“The bikers have visited the houses of six retired teachers who are ill and presented them contributions as a sign of appreciation for their services as well as for their welfare,” he told Bernama when met at the event flag-off at Taiping Vocational College in Perak.
The bikers also visited seven Taiping schools and Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia to motivate as well as explain the Malaysia Madani concept to teachers and students.
MOE Bikerz president Ismail Othman said the programme aimed to boost the spirits of the ministry’s retirees and teachers with illness.
The schools they visited included Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan (SABK) Addiniah, Changkat Jering, SMK Jelai Batu Kurau, SMK Agama Kerian and SABK Maahad Al-Tarbiah Al-Islamiah Changkat Jering.
