Klinik Kesihatan Parit Yusof receives between 120 and 150 patients daily.

RESIDENTS of Parit Yusof in Muar, Johor, will soon benefit from a RM800,000 upgrade to its health clinic.

Johor health and environment committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said works had started and were expected to be completed by October.

They include upgrades to the outpatient and emergency units as well as pharmacy.

He said the mother and child unit, which is housed in a separate building, is also being enhanced.

“The clinic receives between 120 and 150 patients daily,” he told StarMetro.

The upgrades include replacing the roofs, repainting and upgrading telephone lines.

Ling assured that steps were being taken to enable the renovations to be carried out safely.

These include temporarily relocating the outpatient and emergency units in stages to another building, located behind the clinic.

The mother and child unit will operate out of a nearby rural clinic.

“Tents have also been set up to serve as temporary waiting areas to minimise disruption to patients,” Ling said.

He thanked Health Ministry for funding the upgrades.
