AT the upcoming MATTA Fair in Kuala Lumpur, Manchester United football legends will be making appearances, thanks to the travel fair’s official airline partner.
Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) president Nigel Wong announced that Malaysian Aviation Group (MAG) was the official airline partner and premier sponsor of the 56th edition of the fair, which will take place from April 18 to 20.
It will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec).
In addition to 72 booths showcasing attractive deals, a mini replica of Old Trafford stadium would be set up for visitors to enjoy an interactive experience, said MAG chief commercial officer Dersenish Aresandiran.
“We have plans to invite three or more football legends.
“For those who follow us on social media, there is a chance to win exclusive meet-and-greet sessions with them.
“Children will have the opportunity to play at the mini setup with the former star players and stand a chance to win limited-edition prizes,” he said during a press conference in Sepang, Selangor.
Regarding flight ticket offers, Dersenish said 30% discounts for all destinations would be available.
“Firefly will offer domestic travel deals starting from RM59 all-in.
“Malaysia Airlines will also offer a 15% discount on all ancillary products while Enrich will have a 48-hour special deal, among others,” he said.
Dersenish also said there would be a special announcement on the first day of the fair.
“We always make a special announcement regarding offers at every MATTA Fair, but this year there will be many offers.
“We are excited to host what promises to be one of the greatest MATTA Fairs yet.”
Wong said MAG had played a crucial role in supporting MATTA Fair since March 2018.
“We expect over 210,000 visitors and an estimated sales of RM270mil.
“A pavilion on Level 3 at Mitec will feature MAG’s booths, showcasing Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, MASwings and Amal (Malaysia Airlines’ pilgrimage arm).
“Visitors will be able to explore attractive airfares, value-for-money packages and seamless travel solutions for inbound, domestic and international routes.”
He said visitors would have a chance to win attractive prizes, including a business class return ticket to Paris and economy class tickets, with a minimum spend of RM100 at the fair.
MATTA Fair will be open from 10am to 9pm. Free shuttle service will be available from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall to Mitec.
