Putra Heights inferno: Selangor to offer temporary housing for affected families

THE Selangor government has identified Pangsapuri Seri Suria in Kota Warisan, Sepang, as one of the temporary housing options for the 116 families affected by the gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.

Sepang MP Aiman Athirah shared on Facebook that she received unofficial information about this from Selangor women, family empowerment, welfare, and care economy committee chairman Anfaal Saari on Saturday (April 5) night.

Aiman mentioned that the apartment is part of the Selangor state government’s Skim Smart Sewa initiative.

"The size of each unit is 1,000 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

"There are two parking bays for each unit,” she added, noting that the flats are about 30km from the disaster site.

"However, I was told that the decision to move there is up to the victims," she said.

Aiman, who is also the Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister, said she welcomed all the families and would assist where needed.

"I have requested the state to provide a comprehensive briefing for the Sepang District and Land Office and my team to ensure we can offer the best cooperation and support," she stated.
