DBKL, MP need to look into four-year closure of public pool in Bangsar

I AM writing to highlight the prolonged closure of the public swimming pool at Bangsar Sports Complex in Kuala Lumpur.

It has been closed for over four years and the management has cited repair works as the reason.

However, no significant progress has been made during this extended period, causing frustration and disappointment among local residents.

This swimming pool is not merely a facility.

It serves as a recreational hub for families, children and individuals of all ages, promoting health, wellness and community engagement.

The closure has deprived our community of a space where children can learn to swim, families can bond and individuals can stay active.

It is disheartening to see a public facility being left unused for such an extended period without any clear communication or good reason from the authorities.

We urge the relevant ministries and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to investigate this matter urgently and take the necessary steps to ensure that the swimming pool is operational as soon as possible.

I would like to call upon our MP to advocate for the timely reopening of the pool.

It is vital that our wakil rakyat ensure that resources are not wasted and the community is no longer deprived of an important asset.
