Ani says the proposed Ampang Jaya Retirement City has been included in the local plan.
THE Ampang Jaya Municipal Council Local Plan 2035 (RT MPAJ 2035) has officially been gazetted, and will serve as a planning and development blueprint for the next decade.
Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) president Dr Ani Ahmad said the local plan was gazetted on Feb 6 by Selangor government.
As a key urban planning document, RT MPAJ 2035 outlines land use zoning, development intensity and infrastructure planning within the municipality.
Areas designated for redevelopment have been marked in RT MPAJ 2035, which is aimed at coordinating current and proposed land use, said Ani.
“The local plan aligns the development intensity with existing developments on-site and approved layout plans.
“In the 2035 plan, we have also included the proposed Ampang Jaya Retirement City, to align with the demographics of the population within the MPAJ administrative area,” she said in a written reply to StarMetro.
Ani added that RT MPAJ 2035 also included information of the gazettement of Gombak Hulu Langat Geopark (GHLGp), Selangor’s first national geopark.
The RT MPAJ 2035 replaces the 2020 version, which was gazetted in 2011 and went through two amendments in 2013 and 2016.
The public inspection of the draft RT MPAJ 2035 was held from May to July 2022.
The changes proposed to the draft plan include 91 proposals to rezone land status and increase land density as well as proposals for a new highway and alignment of the MRT 3 Circle Line.
