Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has named Macao as the International Favourite Destination for the 56th MATTA Fair.

The fair will be held from April 18 to 20 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) in Kuala Lumpur.

In collaboration with the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the fair will showcase travel deals and holiday packages to Macao.

The Macao Pavilion on Level 2 of International Halls will feature promotions and interactive experiences showcasing Macao and its attractions with its vibrant blend of East and West, world-class resorts, historical sites, and cuisine.

“We are proud to be named the International Favourite Destination at MATTA Fair April 2025,” said MGTO marketing division head Cora Vong.

“This reflects our strong partnership with MATTA in bringing more Malaysians to Macao.

“MATTA Fair is the perfect platform to highlight our exciting new attractions and why Macao remains a top short-haul destination,” she said.

MATTA president Nigel Wong said the fair played a crucial role in connecting travellers with global opportunities while driving business for members in both inbound and outbound sectors.

“Our collaboration with Macao demonstrates how strategic partnerships can open new doors for visitors and the industry alike,” he said.

To further expand business opportunities, MATTA has introduced a new business-to-business (B2B) event – MATTA Connect – where international sellers can connect with Malaysian travel agents as buyers to explore new international destinations and to establish new business partnerships.

MATTA Connect will be held on April 17, a day before the fair.

Admission to the MATTA Fair is free and open from 10am to 9pm.

Free shuttle services will be available from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall to Mitec.

Parking is available at the south entrance basement of Mitec, the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) basement and the Matrade open parking.
