Mohd Irfan Mohd Fikir was all smiles while browsing through baju melayu at Wisma Jakel Section 7 in Shah Alam, Selangor.

For his preferred Hari Raya outfit, the Year Three pupil from SK Taman Tun Dr Ismail 1 picked out an orange shirt and trousers, and a songkok, and samping to go with these.

“It is great to see him enjoying the trip to Jakel and selecting his own outfit for Hari Raya.

“His favourite colour is orange,” said the boy’s father Mohd Fikir.

Mohd Irfan is one of 47 children who benefitted from the Kota Anggerik Ehsan Aidilfitri programme organised by Selangor youth, sports and entrepreneurship executive committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi.

The programme treated B40 and asnaf children aged seven to 12 to a trip to Jakel’s Shah Alam mall to choose festive outfits.

The children were accompanied by their parents.

Mohd Fikir said the programme had reduced his festive costs.

“Besides the outfit, we also enjoyed the outing with my wife Norashahira Zainal Bahrin,” he said.

Mohd Najwan, who is Kota Anggerik assemblyman, said the charity event was also part of Jakel’s corporate social responsibility programme.

“It was aimed at primary school pupils. The children were excited to choose an outfit that they liked.

“We have allocated about RM5,000 for the programme to ease the financial burden of their families in preparation for Hari Raya,” he said.
