Lengkok Golf SS7 Kelana Jaya Rukun Tetangga (RT) hosted its annual “Program Masak Bubur Lambuk Perpaduan” to foster neighbourly ties and feed the local community during the fasting month.

Lengkok Golf SS7 Kelana Jaya RT chairman Datuk Lamien Sawiyo said some 80 residents and several from the neighbouring condominium Kelana D’Putra Condo, Petaling Jaya, took part in the community cooking event.

They cooked 300 packs of porridge made from chicken and dried prawns that were later distributed to the Kelana Jaya Police Station, the Damansara Fire Station and residents, among others.

“I hope this event will be continued next year.

“But perhaps the menu could be changed to something such as bubur kacang, dodol or ketupat,” said Lamien, adding a thank you to councillor Mohamed Hamka Mohamed Jumah for his event sponsorship.

Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung, who was guest of honour, congratulated the RT for organising a programme that promoted cooperation and understanding among multiracial residents.
