St Michael’s Church hosts workshop on navigating technology's effects on family life

KOTA KINABALU: St Michael's Church in Penampang will host a workshop on technology and how it affects families, next month.

The half-day “Smart Technology and Family” programme, scheduled for April 12, will feature speakers from various backgrounds, including lecturers and psychiatrists.

The programme, which will take place from 8am to 2pm, is exclusively for non-Muslims, as it is being held at the Msgr Wachter Hall in the church compound.

This workshop addresses questions such as whether children's futures would be at risk in this digital era and whether smart technology makes them smarter.

It also hopes to introduce the concept of control and recovery from the negative effects of technology abuse among users.

Some of the topics that can be expected include how smart technology influences daily lives and the effects of smart technology on a child’s mental development.

There will be a sharing session among participants and speakers during this event as well.

Those interested are to pay RM10 per person, and any questions can be directed to Callistus Majalang at 019-8131199, Flavia Ignatius at 016-8404402, Spencer Alexander Mogindol at 013-88533114, Inocentia Justin or 012-8205677, Dr. Jiloris Julian Frederick Dony 0138602897.
