THIS Ramadan, diners can enjoy dinner with their friends and families and at the same time help orphans, old folks and others in need.

Diners who wish to lend a helping hand to two welfare homes in Selangor, can buy the “Sedekah Iftar” set menu by Dorsett Grand Subang for RM88, designed for four people.

Dorsett Grand Subang general manager Tania Syahirah Abdullah said that for every order placed, RM15 would be donated to Rumah Kebajikan Noor Manzil (orphanage) in Puchong and an old folks home in Klang.

“The RM15 will be shared between the two homes. Through this commitment, we hope to inspire others to continue helping the community,” she said during an iftar session with children from Rumah Kebajikan Noor Manzil at the hotel.

At the event, 15 children from Rumah Kebajikan Noor Manzil received contributions worth RM5,000 including duit raya and a goodie bag with chocolate, candies and cookies made by the hotel.

Tania Syahirah said Dorsett Grand Subang also adopted both the homes as part of its ongoing community outreach initiatives this year.

“This adoption means more than just financial support. It also represents our pledge to assist them consistently and to mobilise our community to join us in this meaningful endeavour.

“Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these children,” she said.

Tania Syahirah the hotel team would visit the old folks home in Klang after Ramadan to take the senior citizens for outdoor activities.

“This is also a chance for them to socialise and mingle with each other,” she said.

She emphasised that it was better for hotels to adopt such homes and not only help them during festive seasons.

“We will assist them wherever we can throughout the year, in line with our commitment to be consistent in supporting these communities,” she added.
