A LIVELY lion dance performance set the stage for an evening of prosperity and celebration as guests gathered to mark Chap Goh Meh in style.

The festive event, held at Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur, was hosted by Tan Sri Dr Jason Goh Teck Chai and his wife Puan Sri Pernille Goh.

It brought together Selangor royalty, government officials, state executive councillors and business partners for a night of tradition and celebration.

Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and the Sultan’s brother Tengku Ahmad Shah were among honoured guests.

Amid the rhythmic beats of drums and the tossing of yee sang, the event captured the spirit of unity and good fortune that defined the final day of the Chinese New Year.

Jason, the executive chairman of Superaya Corporation Sdn Bhd and Asia Herbal Biotech Sdn Bhd, welcomed the guests to an eight-course dinner.

“Snakes are known to be energetic but tend to make impulsive decisions.

“So as we step into the Year of the Wood Snake, let’s be mindful and plan carefully, as this is crucial in facing potential challenges.

“I also hope that people can stay united. A stable government and political landscape can help the economy thrive,” he said in his welcome speech.

A live band entertained the 55 guests that evening.

Also present were Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia director Datuk Azhar Husin, Sunway Group deputy chairman Tan Sri Razman M.
