We will cooperate fully, says FT Minister on probe into Afdlin Shauki misconduct allegations

PUTRAJAYA: Full cooperation will be provided in the ongoing investigation into misconduct allegations over a procurement contract with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) involving film producer and actor Datuk Afdlin Shauki, says Dr. Zaliha Mustafa.

The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) reiterated that the probe into Afdlin’s alleged involvement in an RM4mil procurement contract with DBKL remains ongoing.

“We leave all the internal and external investigations to the relevant authorities and agencies.

“Full cooperation will be given without withholding any facts or protecting any individuals.

“I don’t want to comment more than that,” she said to reporters after launching the Putrajaya Open Day 2025 event today (Feb 6).

Previously, media reports indicated that DBKL had begun an internal investigation into allegations involving a Kuala Lumpur advisory board member linked to the awarding of a RM4mil project.

Kuala Lumpur mayor, Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif, was reported to have confirmed the investigation and is working closely with DBKL’s integrity unit.

The misconduct allegations, which involved a breach of governance procedures regarding the procurement of a creative material production project for DBKL that was allegedly not awarded through an open tender, began circulating on social media.

In a follow-up statement on social media, Afdlin denied the allegations, claiming that the issue was being deliberately used to sully his reputation.
