Rewind to the ’80s in Shah Alam

The Rentak Selangor 2024 Konsert Nostalgia Irama 80an & Evolusi Muzik transported visitors back in time to the 1980s.

The event at Wisma MBSA in Shah Alam featured a flea market, old-time clinic and coffeeshop, musical instrument store, sundry shop and a traditional warung (roadside stall).

Visitors could also avail themselves to free health screenings and grab a bite at the many food stalls set up at the venue.

The event featured performances of hits from the ’80s as well as ukulele, keroncong, and cempuling.

Competitions were also held including on ’80s fashion and singing performances.

The highlight was a concert hosted by veteran singer and actress Fauziah Ahmad Daud.

It incorporated short sketches between the musical sets.

Performers included a who’s who from the era including Datuk Malek Ridzuan, Datuk Francissca Peter, Zur Eda, Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Samudera, Khai Bahar and Slash.

Selangor Deputy State Secretary (development) Datuk Johary Anuar also made a surprise appearance and played guitar during Slash’s performance.
