LOCAL graffiti artist Kenji Chai has unveiled a striking two-storey mural at SMK SS17 Subang Jaya featuring the Malaysian tiger alongside the Taiwan Excellence mascot.

“The concept revolves around the green theme, designed to promote environmental awareness through this mural art,” said the 41-year-old artist, famous for his nature and animal-themed works.

The artistic collaboration with Taiwan Excellence Pavilion is a highlight of this year’s Architecture, Interior Design and Building Exhibition (Archidex).

Taiwan Excellence, known as the hallmark of quality for Taiwanese products, returned this year with the theme “Greener Together” at Archidex 2024.

The pavilion showcases advancements in artificial intelligence-driven conservation and highlights Taiwan’s products for their sustainability, energy efficiency, and effectiveness.

Among the 21 green products from 11 award-winning companies on display are E Ink’s prism e-paper, Amatech’s mobile tank fan, Saubeair’s smart air purifier and Waterson’s stainless steel multifunction closer hinge.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia economic division director James Chang expressed optimism about the Taiwan-Malaysia collaboration at the exhibition to advance sustainability efforts.

“Malaysia’s strong manufacturing sector plays a significant role in the country’s gross domestic product and export numbers.

“Many factories are urgently looking to improve their energy efficiency and I believe that collaboration between industry players in Taiwan and Malaysia can cultivate a stronger green building ecosystem in Malaysia,” he said.

Taiwan Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur director Eva Peng was also present at the event.

Archidex is being held at Hall 2 of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre until today, from 10am to 7pm.

Pre-registration is required at archidex.com.my. For details, visit www.facebook.com/TaiwanExcellence.MY/
