THE public has until June 8 to give feedback on policies and development strategies proposed for the Selangor Structure Plan 2035 (Amendment) draft.

The plan outlines a vision for a “progressive and prosperous state” through 17 strategic directions, 73 policies and 522 initiatives that will steer the Selangor’s development over the next decade.

The Selangor Structure Plan 2035 was gazetted on Feb 2, 2017.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said public input was important.

“The policies and principles in Selangor’s development must be adapted to current conditions and situations.

“This framework will be followed regardless of who governs the state in the future,” he said at the Selangor Structure Plan 2035 (Amendment) draft publicity and public participation programme at Shah Alam Convention Centre.

Amirudin said the focus moving forward would be to develop suburban areas that would serve as a catalyst to areas yet to be included in development plans.

“The amendment will facilitate development outlined in the First Selangor Plan, including Sabak Bernam Development Area, Selangor Maritime Gateway and Southern Selangor Integrated Regional Development,” he said.

Selangor is targetting input from government and private agencies, industry players, residents representatives and non-governmental organisations.

The draft is available for public viewing at Bangunan Darul Ehsan and Bangunan Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah in Shah Alam, and PLANMalaysia headquarters in Putrajaya.
