GET ready to swing into action as the Toyota Tour eGolf Championship 2024 gears up for a great season at MST Golf Arena from this month through August.

Open to the public, it will see non-professional golfers compete in the five-month indoor golf challenge to win prizes and lucky draws worth RM200,000, including golf equipment, chances to play in the Toyota Tour with professionals as well as golf and stay packages.

The eGolf champion will be featured in the Toyota Tour tournament at The Mines Resort and Golf Club in November to play against some of the nation’s best pro golfers and have a chance to walk away with a RM2,000 cash prize.

Hosted at Malaysia’s largest indoor golf facility, the championship promises to deliver an unparalleled experience for golf enthusiasts.

The championship will be held across four MST Golf Arena locations: The Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur, Tropicana Gardens Mall in Selangor, Gurney Paragon Mall in Penang and Toppen Shopping Centre in Johor.

“We are thrilled to host the Toyota Tour eGolf Championship at our state-of-the-art indoor golf centres at MST Golf Arena locations nationwide.

“The indoor golf tournament is timely following what we observe from the global golf scene and the increase of indoor golf centres and golf technologies locally,” said MST Golf Group Bhd chief executive officer Ng Yap at the launch.

“Our goal is to provide golf enthusiasts with an unparalleled opportunity to experience the thrill of playing alongside Malaysia’s best players, ultimately taking the popularity of screen golf to the next level.”

With its expansive indoor golf facility equipped with modern golf simulation bays, coupled with retail and a golf academy, MST Golf Arena is primed to host Malaysia’s first eGolf tournament on a national scale.

This championship marks a significant milestone in the group’s commitment to advancing the sport, creating memorable experiences for local golfers of all levels and spurring interest among a wider audience, added Ng.

UMW Toyota Motor president Datuk K. Ravindran said the championship is in line with the brand’s vision of “Move Your World”.

“We’re excited to bring the premium experience of the Toyota Tour to more people through indoor simulation golf.

“Toyota is passionate about sharing the thrill and joy of moving with initiatives like our Gazoo Racing GT Cup eSports Championship and Start Your Impossible Run,” he said.

Exclusive to MST Golf’s ilovegolf loyalty members and Toyota’s Loyal-T members, the participation fee of RM90 includes goodies from participating brands and an hour of 9-hole championship play.

The public can join in the action for a one-time fee of RM120 and get their hands on the RM100 worth of goodies from Toyota Tour and participating brands.

Subsequent bay fee charges apply.

The gross winner from each participating venue will be showcased on the Champions Wall at MST Golf Arena, The Gardens Mall.

Participants can test their mettle as many times as they wish in a month, with only the best score counting towards their official monthly medal score.

The monthly emerging Gross winners across all four locations will culminate at a grand final over 18 holes at MST Golf Arena, The Gardens Mall, in October.
