SUNWAY Malls ushers in the Year of the Dragon with the Dragon’s Blessing Lunar New Year celebration.
All shopping complexes under the group will be adorned with vibrant decor and an air of prosperity, with each mall guarded by a unique dragon symbolising specific blessings.
At Sunway Pyramid in Petaling Jaya, the Gold Dragon stands tall to bring good fortune, promising a year filled with luck and prosperity for shoppers.
At Sunway Velocity Mall in Kuala Lumpur, the ensemble of five lively red dragons arrive to bring wealth, while the water dragon at Sunway Big Box Retail Park in Johor embodies peace.
Sunway Putra Mall in Kuala Lumpur’s earth dragon ensures excellent output and abundance.
Finally, at Sunway Carnival Mall in Penang, the wood dragon signifies spring, new life and prosperity.
The recent grand launch at Sunway Pyramid was attended by Sunway Malls and Theme Parks chief executive officer HC Chan, marking the beginning of the festivities.
The launch was accompanied by the beat of traditional Chinese drums as well as energetic lion and dragon dance performances.
“As a mall group, Sunway Malls is fortunate that due to its numbers, we are able to amplify the festivity to the communities across three regions – northern, central and southern,” said Chan.
At Sunway Pyramid, the LG2 Orange and Blue Concourses, in partnership with Aeon Credit Service, will host a series of activities every weekend throughout the campaign.
It will feature Dragon Hour, in which shoppers can receive rewards from the mall mascots Leo and Leona, as well as the God of Fortune “JinYeYe”.
Shoppers can enjoy drum performances, traditional Chinese and lion and dragon dances, along with a special edition of dragon and lion dances on Feb 11 at 3pm beside the main entrance, marking the “Chor Yi” (second day) of the Lunar New Year celebrations.
Shoppers can dress in traditional Chinese attire for photos, participate in hand fan painting and Chinese mask and dragon head workshops as well as enjoy the festive bazaar by brands such as Lo Hong Ka, Jaya Grocer, Eu Yan Sang.
Shoppers can redeem exclusive gifts, including the Dragon’s Blessings Angpow Set, Lo Hong Ka Fortune Gift Set and Cosmic Cookware Cosmo Casserole.
Sunway Citrine in Johor and Sunway Giza Mall in Kota Damansara will also be offering lively activities including traditional performances, redemption booths, handicraft workshops and Chinese New Year festive markets.
