Hospital Pasir Gudang to open in 2025

Hospital Pasir Gudang is expected to be completed this year and open to patients by the first quarter of next year.

JOHOR health and unity committee chairman Ling Tian Soon says construction of Hospital Pasir Gudang (HPG) is in full swing.

It is expected to be completed later this year and begin operating in the first quarter of 2025.

He said HPG was 63.26% completed as of December, ahead of its scheduled 41.5%.

The total cost of the project was RM376.32mil, said Ling.

“The hospital will have 14 specialist clinics and 304 beds.

“Construction on the hospital’s main building, nurses’ quarters and other staff quarters are also progressing well.”

He added that Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) was also undergoing upgrades that were slated to be completed by 2027.

One of the projects, to ease patient volume, was included in Budget 2024. Preliminary works are expected to begin this year.

More than RM5mil had been allocated for Johor’s healthcare sector in the state budget for this year, he added. — By YEE XIANG YUN
