Japanese brand opens lifestyle mall in Prai

THE first of-its-kind Yamaha Lifestyle Mall saw a grand launch in Auto-City Juru, Prai.

The mall, which brings together Yamaha Motor, Yamaha Marine and Yamaha Music under one roof, is spread across 12,000sq ft in a two-storey building.

It features an integrated area encompassing an exhibition floor, designed to showcase Yamaha motorcycles, merchandise such as helmets and jackets as well as marine engines on the first floor.

Visitors can also immerse themselves at the dedicated VIP music lounge and studios, which are equipped with state-of-the-art Yamaha musical instruments, audiovisual systems, soundbars and headphones.

The mall also houses a Yamaha music school, the first Gen Blu Cafe outlet in the northern region as well as an after-sales service centre.

The music studios, meeting room and management office are located on the mezzanine floor.

Hong Bee Motors Group managing director Justin Chuah believes the mall will redefine the Yamaha experience for their customers and create a hub for those who share their passion for the brand.

The lifestyle mall is a pinnacle of synergy as the three main components of the brand are housed under one roof, he said.

Hong Bee is the exclusive dealer for the full range of Yamaha models, manufactured by Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd.

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor’s 3S & Marketing general manager Tim Hoo said they must be aware of customers’ evolving needs and strive to surpass expectations with well-trained customer service, high-quality genuine products and good after-sales services.

Penang local government committee chairman H’ng Mooi Lye, who was the guest of honour, said the event marked a significant milestone.

Also present were Hong Bee Group director Poh Soon Terng and Distributors Group managing director Joel Chuah.

Others were Hong Leong Industries Bhd group managing director Prof Datuk Dr Jim Khor, Yamaha Motor Company Ltd Japan’s senior executive officer, chief general manager, land mobility business operations Itaru Otani and its group manager, Middle East and Asia group, Central and South America group, marketing division, marketing section marine business operations Mitsuhiro Nakamura.

Others included Yamaha Music Malaysia managing director Jin Katagiri, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor director Taketoshi Takabayashi and Hong Leong Yamaha Marine general manager John Lau.

During the launch, a RM5,000 cheque was presented to Friends of Childhood Cancer (Foccan) who was represented by its northern Malaysia president Maznah Tayib.

The lifestyle mall opened its doors to the public on Nov 26 by hosting a customer day with booths featuring Yamaha Marine, Shell, Foccan, a merchandise truck, promotional games and complimentary services.
