Savoury temptations for Pink October afternoon tea


A pretty-in-pink culinary journey while raising awareness for a worthy cause.

IN HONOUR of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Lounge at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur is inviting guests to experience an indulgent yet meaningful afternoon.

Pretty-in-Pink October Afternoon Tea promises a delightful culinary journey through a palette of rosy hues, all while raising awareness for a worthy cause.

The hotel will donate a portion of sales to Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA).

“This very special event is not just about creating an unforgettable gastronomical experience for our guests but also a heartfelt expression of support for those battling breast cancer,” said executive pastry chef Yann Roumanille.

The menu, featuring six sweet and five savoury items, is meticulously crafted in shades of pink to raise awareness for breast cancer and stand in solidarity with women around the world.

The rosy sweets selection includes Coco – composed of roasted coconut sponge with a burst of strawberry jelly and coconut mousse – and Earl Grey and Berry, a melange of juicy forest fruits, silken chocolate mousse and tea-flavoured cake.

The Pretty-in-Pink Macaron fuses rich cherry compote with delicate elderflower cream.

Also served is a variety of melt-in-the-mouth scones served with lush clotted cream, tangy rhubarb-strawberry jam and fragrant rosewater-butter.

The savoury temptations include Pink Salmon Brioche with salmon gunkan, nori powder and sakura denbu in an umami nod to the treasures of the sea, Pickled Egg Salad adorned with Ikura caviar, pink flower petals and pickled quail eggs as well as Beef De Cecina Leon comprising thin beef slices intermingled with piquant horseradish root and velvety rich Manchego cheese.

Diners can also sample pass-around treats such as Cotton Candy Mocktails, Madeleine Strawberries and Praline Financier Cake.

In addition, the retail counter at the lobby offers raspberry madeleines, strawberry chocolate brittles and assorted pastries that make for the perfect gift or takeaway indulgence.

Pretty-in-Pink October Afternoon Tea is available from now to Oct 31, from 3pm to 5.30pm.

It is priced at RM232 per person and includes a choice of coffee or tea.
